From information supplied by the Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO):
Homelessness in Canada has reached crisis levels and the Canadian government has failed to ensure that all people have adequate housing. We are one of the few countries in the world without a national housing strategy. Canada's failure to respond to the homelessness crisis is in violation of its international commitments, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and it also violates the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario is seeking the participation of individuals and organizations in the Right to Housing case it plans to bring before the Ontario Superior Court in May. Organizations can assist with finding applicants who are currently homeless, have experienced homelessness and/or are living in inadequate housing. Organizations can also support applicants through the process: financially (providing TTC tokens, etc), emotionally and logistically.
