Province moves forward on workplace safety recommendations

Ontario is one step closer to improving the safety situation for workers in the wake of a tragic Christmas Eve scaffolding accident that killed four migrant workers in 2009.
A new interim "health and safety prevention council" was named Monday by Labour Minister Charles Sousa as the government gets ready to hire a chief prevention officer.
"They want to get everything in place so when the prevention officer comes in they can hit the ground running," said Greg Dennis, a spokesman for Sousa.
