Coalition for an Independent PPAO: We need your help!

From The Coalition for an Independent PPAO:

We need your help!

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) has announced their decision to have the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario office take control over the Psychiatric Patient Advocate Office of Ontario (PPAO).

This planned takeover has been officially announced to a select group of stakeholders, but without public announcement or consultation. This decision by the MOHLTC constitutes a clear and dangerous conflict-of-interest and is a serious threat to the independence of the PPAO.

We are ask for your help to publicly denounce this conflict-of-interest and assert full support of independence for the PPAO.

Please forward this to all your contacts in the Mental Health community immediately, as the Ministry has indicated their intent to push this through within weeks. We must act now for an independent PPAO.
