Posted September 15, 2011 - A report by the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association shows vacancy rates across the province fell from 3.5 per cent to 2.9 per cent in the past year while rents rose by 2.6 per cent. Almost half of Toronto residents are tenants and deserve to know where the provincial parties stand on rent controls and affordable housing, advocates say.
