Ontario government launches campaign to address violence against Aboriginal women
Posted November 28, 2007 - To address violence against Aboriginal women, the Ontario government is funding an Aboriginal adapted version of the successful Neighbours, Friends and Families campaign. The government will provide $476,000 over two years to the Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres to implement the Kanawayhitowin campaign in Aboriginal communities across Ontario.

Federal government moves to deliver human rights protection for Aboriginal Canadians, again
Posted November 21, 2007 - The Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians has reinstated legislation to repeal section 67 of the Canadian Human Rights Act. This section prevents First Nations people governed by the Indian Act from receiving the same legal protection against discrimination that is afforded to all other Canadians.
