DAWN Ontario produces checklist for accessibility
Posted March 16, 2005 - In order to help organizations and community groups be as accessible as possible, the DisAbled Women's Network Ontario has released a bilingual Access Checklist with helpful guidelines around various aspects of physical, procedural, communication, attitudinal and financial access.

Employment standards information available online
Posted March 16, 2005 - This sub-section of the Ontario Ministry of Labour's website includes a number of fact sheets for workers on topics such as pregnancy leave, minimum wage, severance pay, and more. Full-text versions of the Employment Standards Act are available, as well as an employers guide to the act.

Johns Hopkins report documents world-wide woman abuse
Posted March 16, 2005 - This report by the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) reveals that "at least one in three women worldwide has been beaten, coerced into sex or abused in her lifetime."
