This web site has been compiled as a public service by private bar lawyer Simon Shields. The site provides a series of guides on various areas of law, including small claims court, criminal injuries compensation, line fences, welfare (Ontario Works), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), residential landlord and tenant law, and administrative tribunal procedures (Statutory Powers Procedures Act).

In 2008, the site saw the addition of new sections in Employment Law including overtime and hours of work limits, benefit plans, leaves and other Employment Standards Act rights.

In the "About this Site" section, the author provides the following explanation of the legal guides:
