Getting an Inheritance While Receiving ODSP Benefits

To be eligible to receive ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) income support, a recipient cannot have income or assets worth more than a certain amount. This article in the November 2010 issue of the Durham Community Legal Clinic explains the rules around placing an inheritance in a trust to ensure that it is not counted among the assets of an ODSP recipient.
